| | | Thieves' Guild falling platform traps Damn if this great game had one big turn-off, this would be it. I'm sure anyone that ever tried to reach Karne knows what I'm talking about.
I somehow managed to stumble through on my first time through this game, but I didn't bother on the next two run-throughs and grabbed a cheat code instead.
Anyone have any tips on how to get through this nonsense? |

| | | I know what you mean,
It's harsh to say, but all you need is practice. (don't worry I'm crap too)
What irritats me more, is those bastarding eye zapper things.
I'm level 35 Drizz't, but I still have trouble with them.
After the theives guild, there's no more stuff like that. |

| | | But what's to practice? Is there skill to it? Is there some kind of logic or pattern? Seems just totally random to me.
I don't really have problems with the eye zappers, but maybe that's because I play multiplayer. You could try alternately controlling two characters there. |

| | | When you step on the platform.
Every other platform will crumble around you, except for 1.
You just have to aim for that 1 that's left. |

| | That was kinda obvious, but how do I either: - tell in advance which one is going to stay (so I'll know where to jump next before I land)
- buy enough time so I can make the jumps on reaction (instead of luck)
It's not so bad with the little traps with only a couple of platforms, but the big one where you have to make at least 6 or so jumps is just too damn hard to be fun. |

| | | wait until they start to fall before jumping. Trying to guess will only get you killed. When they start to crumble you have time to jump to the one not falling |

| | Tried and true method I can't help you much there but all I can say is take your time and make sure you get all the enemies before you jump to the first platform.

| | Kevka, the only reason you were having problems is that drizzt doesn't have any god damn missle weapons so you couldn't take out the eye zapper things. |

| | | Jumping thru the falling stones This is what I did after falling so many times. I unequipped my armor so that I was light enough to jump the stones without falling so fast. It worked, Just make sure you reequip your amour ASAP when you reach the last set of stones. You'll know why! I'm just a new gamer tryin' to survive. |

| | | You haven't to do that. Do as SOMETHING said. Wait to see what platforms will fall, then jump the one is still up. |

| | | If any of you people that have the GameCube version want the cheat codes look on the forum i posted. The thing that are on my post are only for GameCube but there is a link to the web site i got it from on there. The cheat codes wont help with the falling platforms. With the invincibility cheat on when the platform falls and you fall with it you character just stand there twitching at the bottom of the pit. but the cheat will help with those damn one eyed thing that zap and kill you.

| | | Killer Eyes Wow! You learn something new every day. I would never have thought to try and shoot a killer eye (eye zapper). We always just timed it so they were looking away. Run behind the pupil, follow the eye around.
The jumping, and the eyes were great parts of the game to attempt to put some hand eye coordination into an RPG game. I thought they were fun. My kids even figured out how to jump them and time the killer eyes.
My son had figured out if you are really fast, you can go straight across the stones. My thumb is not that fast. I have to watch the pattern. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
