| | N00b questions Here we go...
1 - I'm currently multiplaying with a wizard and fighter. Anyone have tips on powers to choose?
2 - Is improving skill with the "lesser" weapons any use?
3 - Is there any reason for the wizard to use Finishers?
4 - Which weapon skill types do the ancestral weapons use?
5 - Where can I find the Cask of Winters in Frostbound? EDIT: Found it. Down one of the ladders in the fortress.

| | | 6 - Once you find the fifth Soul Shard, is there any reason to still use any other weapon than the Ancestral weapon?
7 - Any tips on Cleric activated abilities/finishers?
8 - Any tips on Rogue activated abilities/finishers?
9 - What's the difference between the various difficulty levels? More enemies? Enemies have more hit points, take less damage or do more damage? |

| | | I just found the last shard for my rogue but she can only use the bow. Also, I forgot what the dwarf dude said about the gems and how to equip them. Any idea on how to equip them? |

| | Yeah, once you get that chat from the dwarf, you get a fourth line added to your Action Menu (hold down right trigger) where you can select the gem. They then enhance your weapon. They're not consumed in the process, and you can switch gems back and forth all you like anytime.
From what I could tell, these are the powers bestowed by each gem: - Nature: poison.
- Fire: fire damage.
- Ice: cold damage and a decent chance of freezing your victims.
- Wind: very good chance of trapping your victims in a mini-whirlwind, practically disabling them.
- Death: you gain a small bit of life for every hit.
I like Ice and especially Wind myself. |

| | | bugged game I do not have that fourth line to pick what gem to equip! Also, the description of the disable trap is the same as pick lock. I think my game is bugged. |

| | | yes, I have all the shards and all the gems. I beat the game yesterday on normal. That was really easy for some reason. But I still do not have the option to pick what gem to equip. Does it have something to do with me being the rogue maybe? |

| | | Dunno, but I doubt it. I'm currently replaying with Rogue and Cleric, and I'll let you know when we get there. |

| | Guys - just started playing a fighter (about to enter the Baele treasury). Question: which proficiency is my "ancestrial" weapon? Longsword? Bastard sword? I want to increase proficiency, but I don't want to waste a slot, you know?
Thanks!

| | See my question #4... However, it's probably longsword and you can easily find out. Just save before you spend your points, spend them, then open your inventory and see if the damage listed for Ancestral Sword went up. |

| | | 2) Yes, improving skill with weapons other than your own have use. You find other weapons, do you not? And some of them are stronger than your Ancestral. Points make them easier to use.
3) If you play a battle wizard, yes.
4) Cleric - Warhammer
Fighter - Longsword
Wizard - Staff (I think)
Rogue - Longbow (I think)
6) Yes. See my reason for two. After you get the last soul shard though... There is no point.
7) By the time you beat the game, you should unlock most if not all abilities. I only don't have storm of vengance, but oh well. Just max out healing and you'll be fine.

| | | I just found out the Ancestrall Staff is actually a Quarterstaff. Rogue uses Dagger, I think.
I found that about as soon as you find the fifth soul shard, the ancestral weapon is always at least almost the best weapon available and often the best.
Wizard finishers eat a lot of MW, which is in my humble opinion better spent on spells. Plus they'll take up a button.
I've really taken a liking to the Cleric's Hold Monster, too. |

| | | I love Clerics. And Dwarfs. So that character fit me well. All they needed was a human druid and I'd be in heaven. :P
