just not getting it?

Hey, I played through Dark Alliance and all, and it was sweet, now I'm playing RtA. However, I'm just not seeing where you can import your people into a saved game. I see how you can import an old character when starting a new game, but not into an existing one, nor can I tell how to add/remove players while in the middle of a game, does this game not let you just swap whoever you want in and out of the game? Also... that arena... is there no way to save the progress you make in there? I died on like level 8, had to exit, and my character went back to the way she was before, no level ups or items or anything, so what's the point of the arena? I really like this game and wanna get the most out of it, please somebody let me know what I'm missing.

They purposely left out the character import in Return to Arms to reduce cheating. You can do it in Champions of Norrath (the first game in the series) as well as the Baldur's Gate games.

I am not sure which arena you are referring to. I'd guess you are on the evil path and are fighting the four horsemen, (Drundar Arena) but round 8 does not make sense.

Maybe you're in Plane of Valor Medal Round? You need to kill 8 warlords before you die. It opens up the secret area Isle of Dishonor. If you get enough warlords it should autosave. There's no loot or experience received from the medal rounds. Though you do get stat points.

well that sucks, I thought I read on the net stuff about importing characters and such, I didn't wanna cheat, just wanted it to be cool.

Also, the arena I'm referring to is in the main menu, where you can go PvP or CoOp into it, instead of the campaign and storyline and such. You know, you fight waves of guys at a time, I did that and got some gold and new items and a few level ups, but then died ad my only choices were try again or exit, so I exited, and lost all that progress.

You can do character swaps in Champions of Norrath.

I have only played the story mode, so I don't know if you can save the arena mode stuff.

Unlike Champions of Norrath, you can not import characters to a game while the game is in progress.

As for the co-op arena, you can not save your progress. Honestly, I find the co-op arena to be a boring waste of the developers programming skills. There is no point and you spend entirely too much time not fighting while waiting for the game to load and then countdown between each round.
