I just got a copy of Return To Arms

Just thought someone should post here. It's been a bit slow lately.

I have to say that Return to Arms is so far tougher than Champions of Norrath.

We started 2 new characters and have completed the first 2 bosses (War and Innovation). The bosses are quite tricky.

What is the single player strategy for the Innovation boss? We did it in coop, but I can't see one person killing that guy.

Iron Guardian

The Iron Guardian can only be beaten by someone with magic, or someone good with Archery (Wood elf) Its all about timing, the Iron guardian sends out 2 waves then pauses for about 1 second giving you enough time to send a wave or 2 of magic in its face. As for the little bomb guys the run up to you, run out of the way if you can.

And Remember!

Potions are your friends!

Iron Guardian

I gotta say OMG I don't understand how you guys can find the Iron Guardian difficult. Well, the arrows are painful but once you are close enough it's a piece of cake. The key is the delay: he attacks and then stops a pretty long time 1 or 2 seconds, you hit him and guard, hit, guard, hit, guard always like that and you should be just fine with any character class.

But I have a question though, is it possible that the slashing weapons are less useful againts the robots in the plane of Innovation? Cause it looks like that my blunt weapons don't miss while my slashing often does...

Maybe because I almost never use block that I find these guys so hard.

I did not see any lack of hitting with slashing weapons in the Plane of Innovation. I may have more to do with Attack Bonus and Skill Point distribution.

My wife is playing a Cleric, and I'm playing the that new Tiger character (sorry name escapes me), so she's using blunt, I'm using slashing. Neither seemed to miss more than the other.

Red face

The easiest strategy for melee characters against the Iron Guardian is to buy a decent one-handed weapon and shield. Run up close to him and block his attacks. Then it's a simple matter of getting the timing right inbetween his attacks to bash him two or three times then block again. Repeat until he falls to pieces.

I just got the game and there's one thing I have to say: ITS AWESOME!!

Well, the way I beat him was by blocking the arrows and everytime he would stop nudge a bit more closer. You should stop nudging towards him when you see sparks flying across you're sheild or what ever it is you're using to block. (Oh and this is for all melee characters GO BERSERKERS!) Also if you find the clockwork bomb dudes to be a problem, there easy.

You can even use them to you're advantage. What you do is not jump back, but jump to the side right when it stops to blow up. That way you still have the same position as before, but at a different angle. So then what you do is attack him in between melee attacks, and you're good to go! Oh and by the way, I didn't come up with this strategy, I had a lot of trouble with him myself and I went to check out this website to see how to defeat him.

Meh, right now I'm on the plain of Torment, which I'm finiding really dificult.

The plane of torment was interesting. The stealing the fire and moving it to new braziers was quite fun.

Clear the path to the next brazier. Get as far away from the flame as you can and still have the Steal Flame prompt. Then hit [] and run.

The monsters seemed tougher there too.

I beat the game on the "good" path and in my opinion the hardest boss was the last one,Cazec thul, or something like that. I had a berzerker and my G/F had a shaman. In the end we wound up using the shamans "growth" skill and a mean hit and run tactic.

Worse boss

My hardest boss sure was Mithaniel Marr. (the final boss when you are a baddy) I had to try at least 20 times at champion with my Vah Shir...
