getting into the side games in Return to Arms

saw a question that is no longer an active thread...but i am not sure the poster got the answer desired...so here is my lengthy explination:

when you are being sent to a new plane by firiona or the badgirl and go thru the planar gateway...look to the side of the main plane...notice some planes have three bubbles? move left or right to highlight the side quest....ill omen and faydark do not have side bubbles to highlight. you have to do the middle quest (second bubble) before getting to the third one in each area...the third area in each plane is where you get the all important plane bloodstones...you need all 11 to be able to get that pesky sword in the stone in the plane of valor that keeps telling you only a true champion can unlock the sword.

these side quests range from not too difficult to mind-numbingly and frustratingly impossible if you arent a 14-year old GAMER. (i am an old fart with few skills and no patience and the boyfriend has to do things like 'soul break' --which describes both how i feel as well as what the task involves!) and "death's countdown". also, the side games do not allow you to return to base to sell/buy or restock on potions, so gear- and potion-up sufficiantly to get you thru before trying them.

note about soul break quest (this is the second bubble of the plane of torment, and it is truly a torment!!!): if you are a dual wielder: unequip your weapons before going in or it will lock up and not let you in at all.

also...you may do well enough in the middle rounds to get the upper or lower crest and some skill points, but not well enough to get to the third areas...make sure you find out what you really need to unlock the third round in each plane...or you will be mad mad mad!!

lots of luck to you.
