| | | Fun, fun... Played with the cheat code suggested by someone in one of the other threads last night - and I have to say thanks.
It was nice to see other items become available from the merchants, I was wondering how much longer it would take before I could get something better than scale armor... It was good to have an opportunity to test out the abilities and powers in their maxed out versions, this will help a lot with my decisions as I go back to playing in a quasi-legit mode.
I am going to use a few of those Tome Of Lessons, however, since I accidentally put a few points into one ability that I'm not finding useful at all. There is no other way to fix it that I see, beyond starting over, and I'm just not willing to go back that far.
I'm still a little puzzled though, as to how I'm missing a few soul shards.
Can anyone tell me how to use the Gems with my ancestral hammer? I have two gems and seven or eight soul shards currently...
It says that they are used on the right thumbstick, where you switch the user-assignable moves, etc. I don't see the gems there, and I don't remember reading anywhere in the manual a description on how to invoke the gems.
Final question is when will I first see any plate mail? I hate to waste points with the legit character on splint if plate will be popping up after the next level, since chain mail is already showing up...
Thanks in advance. |

| | | Seems like my experience was that you wouldn't start seeing a particlular style of item, e.g. plate armor, until you had a proficiency in it. That's what I noticed, doesn't make it right.

| | | Plate Armor I discovered that plate first became available after beating the frost worm, or maybe the dragon.
I kept going back to the merchants to see what they have available, it seems both level-dependent, as well as having some different, slightly better version of each item as time went on: Plain splint appears, then reflection splint, etc.
I wish I'd tracked it, so I could share the information with other gamers.
Must say I'm enjoying the game, I'm playing in a more legitimate manner now, though, using my points wisely, and only where I felt they were most effective during my testing.
Still playing a cleric, would like to try a rogue.
I wish they had made the characters more customizable, from a races, sex and feat standpoint. The feats and moves in the game don't correspond to 3E or 3.5E stuff as directly as Neverwinter Nights' options do.
Can chat more later, gotta go... |

From what I could tell (finished the game twice) merchants update their inventories each time you find one of the gems. They'll gradually work in new armour types.
But don't worry about that. Just wait until you actually see a suit of armour you like, and then invest the points. By that time you usually have points to spare anyway. If you're saving up for that 800 point Storm of Vengeance, what's 50 points for an armour proficiency?
Besides, armour of the next type isn't always better than what you have. I'll take a Splint of Focus over a plate anytime. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
