| There are two exits from Assemanu, Shrine that lead to Assemanu itself. One leads to a small chasm, from the edge you can see a passage heading away from you, this is the passage you need to get to. You can either use a levitation spell/potion, or try jumping. The other door leads to the same problem, but without the jumping option.
If you haven't got the means to levitate, and can't make the jump then you can still escape if your playing on a PC. Typing COC "Seyda Neen" into the console should take you to that village.
PS Just realised that you only mentioned having the rusty key, you also need the Old Key, which is on the body of one of the Ordinators in Assemanu.
