I just discovered this great game, and would really like to play as tech-character. I tried that, and I am currently at my third char (a mage - who is terribly overpowered btw).
The first two chars did not work out: on the first one, I discovered too late, that my tech alignment stopped the healing spells from working. I could produce some tech-oriented healing salves myself, but I was out of raw materials. So, without a means for healing, I was unable to continue with the game.
2nd try: I researched a bit and got myself the tech-healer woman as follower which worked like a charm AS LONG AS SHE HAD RAW MATERIALS TO PRODUCE HER SALVES. And, guess what: i'm out of those (although I bought up everything I could find). So, my second char is sitting there and unable to continue.
Well third time around I started a mage with high charisma and 'harm', and shes boring to play because I mow down everything (and I dont even have the worthless mutt in my group
).
Sooooo: what I would like to play is a blacksmith/melee fighter (without magic). How do I do it without getting stopped dead because of a lack of healing salves? Is is possible to farm the ingredients somewhere? Do I simply take too much damage?
