| If it rechecks itself that's because the directory that it's in is flagged as read only. Windows Vista really goes above and beyond to make sure that you don't mess up anything on your computer, and I have only limited experience with Vista. Rather than trying to figure out where in the parent directory structure the flag is, you should probably try the second option I mentioned above.
Copy Gothic.ini to another directory (something that allows editing, like a temp or downloads directory) and a second copy to a safe place, uncheck read only, edit the file, save, delete the original, then copy the new file into the original directory. I'm not 100% sure, but that should work. |
