I would also very, very much like the option of NOT being a Jedi. I really think the first game would've been much more interesting and open if you had the choice of refusing to become a Jedi, and staying as your starting class or something (or maybe, as previously mentioned, becoming a diplomat or a bounty hunter). It would be cool to play a character like Han Solo rather than another Jedi.

I've seen this suggested before and I'm not so convinced. After all, it is Knights of the Old Republic - the jedi is implied in the title. Surely in both games you had the option of RPing a non-jedi, by just not using the powers?
In general though I like all your ideas.
