| I think Shamus has recanted that particular position by now. But I think that serves to really illustrate how hard it is to be aware of what's going on in the world of indie games. With the indies, you don't get dozens of magazines and hundreds of gaming websites blasting out ads and previews and countdowns and all the other things that gamers are used to seeing to stay informed about what's going on in the gaming world. With indies, you sometimes have to really hunt them down and shake 'em down just to get them to sell you their game!
I'm actually not kidding on this last point. I've seen some indie developers where the distribution and purchasing process is just... bizarre and arcane. |
