The best way I found to milk level squatting without muling is to stagger when you level your chars. And pay attention to the average character level. I forget how it works but you want to maximize each chars level but still have the average party level 1 level below the cut-off for the next xp jump. I forget if its rounded up or down you can figure that out by a saved game wouldn't be hard.

Now the problem with unsquatting everyone at once is that now you get no xp hardly. So unsquat the rogue when he needs some levels to get skills keep the sorceror at max so she can fry everything. Then leapfrog the other characters so the party level is hopping up and up but not all at once (or no xp for awhile).

This doesn't get the maximum possible xp out of the game but it maximizes your power for a given xp gain. Max xp would be to never level up till the final battle but it would be impossible to get level 1 chars through the whole game.

Another rule is to park them at sweet levels. Casters love a new spell level gained. Warriors love a new attack. Warriors also love improve critical. Multiclass is tricky because you have to take all the unsquat levels at once.

Its really quite complicated to milk the most...I had this huge leveling guide which was only possible since all my races were the same ecl value (0)
