| I usually post on other forums, but this particular subject caught my eye. A couple of things did actually.
1. A lot of people here dont wish to see a BG 3 made. Though if it were suddenly created and available, would you buy it? Or would you sit on your throne and say BG is good just the way it is? Im sure that the creators could come up with a good storyline, I think theyre a little creative.
2. It is true that in April of '04 it was announced that BG3 was in the works. I think it is important to keep this in mind: Theyre basically starting from scratch. When the game was originally shut down, they were nearly done with it. Think of all that work and time. You have to spend just as much time and even more with a new company working on it. It doesn't suprise me that a BG game hasnt been released in a while, a major, some say its biggest game was cancelled right before it was finished. If anything we should hear some sort of news within 18 months. Announcing in April 2004 that they were working on it as well as other games, shows that BG3 was not their only priority, however, starting from scratch, this is a 4-5 year project for how big this game truly is. If BG3 is a reality, it will happen in the next year or so. This is my....educated guess.  |
