And I usually get Throne right in the moment I don't want to(in a solo no-reload). Maybe you're just constantly unlucky. Keep reloading...

Comet is annoying? Well, imho, this is the best choice, better than even Throne. Because experience is abundant, while permanent resistance rewards are not!
