Odd. Must be the game's problem itself. I was able to play it back in '02 (running on a P2 at that time).

Not only that but also, the game itself is a hardware hog. If I recall correctly, at the time of F.E.A.R.'s release, not even the high-end Geforce 6 and ATI X cards were able make it beyond 60fps at the normal resolution of 1024x768.
