| Yes - you need to melee attack him at least once withthe staff.
This can be hard to do - because the betweeb the ligth displays of his magic weapon, your magic weapon, and flying spells - Plus the constand knock back you get ever time he hits you - you can't be really certain if you hit him with a melee attack or not.
I happend to hace a powerful mage with LOTS of nova blast -After I hit him with the staf of divinty, I just kept running in circles launching nova blast - I noticed at first he was still regenerating - so I meleed him again with the staf -the went back to the nova blast- this time he stoped regerating - and it just took a few minutes to kill him off. |
