| I'm still using an old Keytronic AT keyboard because I like it better than any other keyboard I've tried. It's beige (a very dated color in the computer world), and I have to use an AT-to-PS/2 adapter to connect it to my computer, but I'm more fussy about feel and functionality than I am about appearances. I don't like keyboards that have more than the standard 104 keys, especially since I have cats that like to walk across my keyboard to get my attention and I don't want them pressing any special function keys that might do strange or unexpected things. (Having your computer go into Sleep mode by accident might seem bad when you're playing an "important" game, but imagine what it feels like if you're trading stocks online.) So I can't recommend any particular gaming keyboard.
However, my brother loves his Razer Tarantula keyboard, so I thought I would pass that along. I am personally indifferent to the keyboards listed in your poll, but I can state firsthand that the Tarantula is extremely well-made and the keys feel great. Best of all in my opinion is that it is not littered with as many special-function keys as other keyboards. For one thing, it doesn't have a built-in game pad. But the keys are programmable, and some of them are even backlit with LEDs, so I can see why it would appeal to a hardcore gamer. |
