Well, I'd really like to see some of the Elizabethan and Jacobean plays as premiered, especially several that only survive in partial form--like Macbeth (despite Shakespeare's caricature of witches ). I'd also like to meet at least 2 or 3 of the playwrights, notably Shakespeare, Ben Jonson, and George Chapman.

There are many other places I'd like to visit, but lacking any understanding of the language, I'm afraid I'd be at a loss to interact intelligibly with the inhabitants. I'd love to hear Herodotus read aloud from his Histories, or go through initiations to Osiris and Isis in Middle Kingdom Egypt, or watch the first historic parliament meet in Budapest in the mid-19th century. But I wouldn't try to change history, because there is no way to know how those changes would cascade in the future.

...except that I'd try to keep William Shatner from ever getting the part of Kirk in Star Trek. Gods, he's an awful actor.
