This is interesting because I also have Xan installed, and I wouldn't mind changing his portrait if I could.
As per VonDondu's suggestion, I just checked my directories, including Xan's folder, and I can't see anywhere that would store portraits.
I'd suggest going to Xan's official forum and contacting the mod's author.
