| My character was effective early since I had learning bonuses in martial things (fighter) and also late since I was (wizard). With enough books 3 learning bonuses and spellfire is enough to handle whatever in late game. Hoards of enemies? BAM BAM BAM dead sure beats meleeing every pack of wolves. Plus I had (Marauder) so I could do cool dualwielding to conserve spells against trash monsters that didn't warrant a blast nova.
