Wizards use intelligence for spells.
Sorcerers use charisma for spells.
Clerics use wisdom for spells.
A stat of 10 will allow you to cast level 0 spells (cantrips)
A stat of 11 will allow you to cast level 1 spells
A stat of 12 will allow you to cast level 2 spells, etc.
Also note that sorcerers and wizards will have trouble casting spells if wearing armor.
