Ok, thank you Siberys..I reckon I'm a little lazy boy: I hoped there was a way
in game, but ur references are more than welcome.. two weapon fighting (as you correctly point out) was a mere instance: my real doubt was about my half-orc barbarian wielding an orc double-axe.. I think there was something bound to this weapon I recall from TOEE, but I'll go and find out in my 3.5 handbook

edit: got it: it's like using two weapons (that's the reason of the low dmg) and it would require ambidexterity and two weapon fighting to use it efficiently.. as usual I'll stick with the great axe
