| They just exagerate anything that happens in a game. Most gamers take the violence as part of the story, they don't consider it an end of itself. In the other article you posted about, they describe Bioshock like it's all about killing little girls. It's just a part of the game, not the essence, but "the big crowd" of people read those articles because those are generally the only source on gaming they encounter, and they think all games are about violence "an sich".
Last I heard about Jack-Ass Thompson was that one judge or another had threated with suspending his lawyer-license if he didn't stop "almost randomly dragging companies through the mud." Good thing, I say. |
