It's a bit hard to categorize Sacred. It has the hack and slash of Diablo/Diablo 2, but a far better implementation of socketing and more useful character enhancements. D2 has experience shrines, but Sacred has Mentor potions that a player can use whenever they wish for experience bonuses. Both Sacred and Diablo/Diablo2 are more item driven than player skill driven, but Sacred is far more forgiving. In D2, you pretty much needed uber powerful items to survive. For Sacred, you DON'T have town portal but there are waypoints that you can obtain along the way. In my opinion, the most fun is playing the game online in Hardcore mode. There are even weekend sessions set up for special multiplayer get-togethers.
