| One of the problems with running DL on Vista is it dousn't save the game correctly, it only puts the save is the slot but it fails to save all the info for the file. In essence your not really saving the game only a Save Ghost.
This happens becasue of the enhanced securirty on Vista I think.
To fix that you need to right click the shortcut to the game select properties go to the compatibility tab and click the box at the bottom to have it run as a administrater program, this gives DL permissions to alter files on your Computer so you can save over previous files and save all the info needed, doing this also rolls it back to the latest uncorrupted save file you have.
Also to make it run smoother set it in compatibility mode for windows 2000 (On the same tab as the above).
After doing these when you try to launch the game it will ask for your permission for the program to start since it will be able to alter files on the computer it needs to work correctly.
I have my windows Vista Notebook set to the above settings and it runs smoother and is less buggy then on my windows XP Desktop.
Another thing, it will lock up with those random numbers displayed at the top if you manage to climb a cliff and fall off the map. ^^  |
