| Exaltion does not get rid of Hopelessness; it affects beserk, confusion, panic, etc. Chaotic Commands prevents Hopelessness from affecting your characters if cast on the character prior to being bespelled (e.g. CC does not remove Hopelessness but will prevent its effect). Impervious Sanctity of Mind (lvl 7 priest spell) and Mind Blank (lvl 8 mage spell) will also prevent it - both are caster-only spells, so it's impossible to say whether they could remove Hopelessness.
