| I would say that the best time to join a house is when you are comfortable with doing so in your playing experience. For some people, that may be early; for others, it will be late. The house quests, though, do tend to be a bit difficult, and if you're going with Telvanni, it helps to have a lot of mana, and good spell availability in all schools. Mark and Recall are your friends, too.
