Texture Replacer
I have been using
Ultimate Textures which is a compilation pack... Unfortunately, there is some controversy over whether or not the author acquired permission to use some of the textures, and I don't know what the current status of that discussion is. I ended up using it, though, because all other replacers were slowing my aged machine down quite badly... this actually speeded things up a bit. I also quite like the textures chosen, they are more natural-looking (as opposed to shiny), and in my view fit into the game world very nicely.
