Actually, you both are kinda right. Cradle of Filth - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As stated on wikipedia, CoF has been black metal band, but evolved during the time towards other metal styles. 
So, basically they are today more mix-up of different styles... which is very common in todays metal bands...
