| They'll likely push their own mods, however. They're not aggressive about it or anything, in fact they're very very helpful, but they do love their mods, and often don't appreciate how much harder they can make the game for those unfamiliar with it.
For the standard as-intended game, I'd go with Atari's official patch 2 and then temple.zip (see the sticky thread on patches, or ask at co8.org for advice).
Beyond that, there are fan mods that do everything from make the NPCs less annoying (see the sticky thread on that too) to making the game bigger and tougher. I personally recommend the straight up game with the minimal fixes for a first run and then frills and other stuff later, when you can appreciate it. |
