I always thought "smooch" to be slang for kiss
I suppose i've seen too many Top Cat cartoons so 60 and 70s New York expressions have been permanently burned in my mind
Anyway i didn't know that the UK and other western countries had problems with the new music at the time? I know all about Bulgaria and the other ex-soviet countries (my dad used to hide rock&roll records in a secret compartment under his bead..
