Well, the grey philosophy implemented back in KOTOR 2 was meant to show that Jedis aren't that good and the Siths are not as bad as what was portrayed in most Star Wars games and movies. In a way, it shows that not everyone is perfect and they have faults just like you and me. In addition, it will give a human feel to the game and not some perfectly good and perfectly bad group almost portrayed in any RPG out there.
