| I had the EXACT same problem The install would ask for a setup.isn (or .ins file One of the 2 can't remember, .ins for install, i would guess) and to insert disk one. I only got one DVD and was convinced that it was the disk since it would not install on my laptop or my other rig either. I also noticed I could not view any of the files by exploring the disk except for the autorun file. This post has already been helpful because curiously enough, I have roxio installed on all 3.
However, I still don't know what to do to keep roxio from blocking my install. I have decided to just uninstall and reinstall after I install oblivion, but will it block me from playing after i reinstall? guess i'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
That brings me to my next problem. Due to my first attempt, every time I try to install it actes like I already did and gives me a title menu, with the "play" and uninstall options. I can't play because it didn't really install, when I try to uninstall it just exits the menu. I have searched my drive for bethesda\Oblivion files...nix on those, its not listed in my programs either. I assume that means it's in my registry, but I haven't the first clue how to edit that.
Any thoughts?
