Why not use one spell for all enemies? It would be much simpler that way, or they could impose limits as to what type of enemy you can transform into like at Lv 1, you can only transform into a wasp or hobbe at maximum and when you reach Lv 2, you can transform into a balverine or something at that level for example.

Maybe, though I was thinking of getting a disguise to sneak into enemy territory (like grabbing a suit from a dead enemy) but its slightly off-topic here. I'd much prefer if the spell worked on monsters, though.

Why not make the spell indefinite? Like once you cast that spell, you will stay as that enemy until you cast that spell again, you will change back to normal? It will be less frustrating that way. Also, I was thinking that if you cast that spell right in front of an enemy, your cover would have been blown.
