 Heroes 5
Just a note for those buying Heroes 5. The game will not work if your My Documents folder is stored on a server (automatic backup on a domain). Ubisoft has acknowledged this, will not be fixing it, and has cited Microsoft's developers restrictions as being the reason. Here is their exact response to this issue:
"They (the developers) notified me with information that indicated that
they would not be able to change this. The game will not save correctly to or
work correctly if the My Documents folder is being stored on a network
drive and apparently this was intentional. This was called for by
Microsoft Windows XP guidelines for developers."
Incidentally, they will not refund for this and have no plans on any form of remedy. Curiously, this doesn't seem to be an issue with any other games. For example, Dungeon Siege II plays splendidly under these same conditions, and I'm pretty sure MS set up the guidelines for this game... |
