Powergaming is for the impatient. Why not just be a Bosmer born under the Steed and have 95 frigging speed?

Honestly, though, you should try having one armor type as major, and one as minor. Like Adairan here had Medium armor as a major for the bonemold/Indoril, and Heavy as a minor, for things he finds along the way.

Real warriors, though, stick to one or two types of weapons. Long blade and Marksman is a good combination, for example. Oh, and you should try to see if you can fit a weapon skill in a minor slot, just in case you find a +100 Mighty Battle Axe of Fiercly Roasting and you only have Blunt Weapon and Spear (you damn Argonians).

Basically, a warrior setup that works now for me is:

Spec: Combat
Favored attributes: Strength, Agility (change to your will)

Major Skills

WEAPON (Axe for you Barbarians out there)
FREE (I personally reccomend you put a weapon here, but feel free to improvise)
MED/HEAVY ARMOR (Light armor for you Barbarians out there)
BLOCK
ATHLETICS

Minor skills

WEAPON (Or Acrobatics if you want)
ARMORER
MED/HEAVY ARMOR
MERCANTILE
FREE SLOT (Put whatever you feel like here)

I finally submitted to playing an Imperial character. Female, joined the Imperial Legion.

SPEC: Combat
ATTB: Endurance, Personality

MAJOR:

Long Blade
Spear
Block
Heavy Armor
Athletics

MINOR:

Armorer
Short Blade (Not really required, put anything else here if you want)
Mercantile
Speechcraft
Medium Armor

With a bit of training, she was ready for the Imperial Legions in no time.
