Monter Hunter Freedom - rather goods this, in spite of capricious controls and a wayward camera. at least partly because it is possible to do the whole thing solo as well as multiplayer.
Metal Gear Ac!d 2 - an improvement over the previous version, yes. still not as good as it could have been. not least because the boss arena mode is startlingly underwhelming. PC
A variety of MUDs in the hope of finding one that is good, free, and doesn't arbitrarily destroy all your equipment when you disconnect.
Divine Divinity - still irritatingly unstable, but the skill system, free roaming and difficulty balance widdle over most click-em-ups around.
Sudden Strike 2 - meh, it's good. it's not vastly changed from the original, but I like the style. PS2
Makai Kingdom - not sure whether it beats Disgaea. although it doesn't have some of the annoying features of its predecessor, the character skills are perhaps a little straightforward in comparison.
