These kinds of predators have been finding ways to get to children for centuries without needing these online social networks. To think that cutting off teens' access to such sites is going to protect them is ludicrous. And teens have always found ways to get into places they're not supposed to be anyway, so it's not like it's going to stop them. Smells like a cheap attempt at telling the public that the government is actually doing something good.

You can't blame them for plugging their own services. All companies do that whenever possible.
