Erm, then I don't know if I can really explain the sudden disappearance other than to maybe point a finger towards the "Most Famous Cartoon in the World" thread where some things got pretty heated. I haven't read everything in there (there's a lot) and aren't blaming that discussion, but it might have had something to do with it.
