If you have a Microsoft Mouse, you can set the right mouse button, or any button you want, to "move forward" by doing the following:
(Note: you must have the Microsoft "IntelliPoint" software installed for this to work. You can download it HERE)
  1. Open the Windows Control Panel and double click on "Mouse".
  2. At the bottom of the window is a checkbox that says "Enable program-specific settings". Check this box.
  3. Click the "Settings..." button.
  4. The Program - Specific Settings window opens. Click the "Add..." button. Navigate to the Dungeon Lords install directory and select dlords.exe. Click Open.
  5. The mouse button selections should now be active on the right side of the window. Select the "Right button" list and scroll down till you see "Keystroke...". Select this entry.
  6. A Keystroke Assignment window will pop up. Just type the key you want the mouse button to represent. In this case, hit the "w" key once (no shift).
  7. Click OK to cloce the Keystroke Assignment window. Click OK to close the Program - Specific Settings window. Click Ok to close the Mouse control pannel. Close the Control Pannel.
Now, when running Dungeon Lords only, when you hold down the right mouse button you will walk forward.

My mouse has left & right "side" buttons. I assigned the key "e" to the right side button so I can quickly bring up the Equipment window to pause in-game action. I assigned "shift" to the left side button so I can easily open doors and pick stuff up.

I still find it easier to use the keyboard while fighting, so I dont use mine to walk. Besides, if you set the right button to go forward, it cant be used to raise your shield.

Enjoy!

Dave
