if you can spare the mana, and if you dont have anywhere else to put your talents. id go with improved arcane explosion. the reason is that it becomes and instant cast. which can be used in pvp to take rouges out of cloak (and druids for that matter). IAE is perfect for pvp so that combined with the talents you already stated your both suited for pvp and pve. if you have a priest with you in both cases you can kill even more mobs, and also live longer in pvp. how that works is you run into a mob hit frost nova, then hit your AEs dont know them all. but id use IAE mostly and you can take down a party of horde or alliance while the preist heals and you keep the enemys from getting to the priest with frost nova. why grouping with a priest is good (had to edit this in sorry) is due to the fact, that one you can take on more pve mobs and survive thus getting more exp which negates the effect of haveing a second person in your party. being able to kill more mobs like i said lets you get more mobs even if grinding you can even grind elite mobs with this plan. why you ask simple if you do the damage as a frost or oven arcane mage you can do massive damage while the priest heals. its faster safer and gives more xp but thats just my opinion. druids als can do the healing or shamans if your horde. the good thing about shamans is they can lay down a mana stream totem (and a healing totem at the same time not sure, but i doubt it), thus keeping your damage flowing and his own attacks going. with a shaman helping you can both do massive damage, take on more foes, heal, have a 100% chance of slowing runners with grounding totem. just in case you wish to hear my opinion. your points are very good in case you cant find a shaman, priest, or druid.
