ok i am so very very very happy that i get to tell you about rogues i played a rogue for 30 played days only got him to level 48 due to the fact one that i liked that pvp bracket and two my main focus for my rogue who was also my main was to help and train the new players and people level 50 and lower in how our guild worked sooo, i can help you up to that level and give some decent ideas on how to work a rouge after 48 but enough aboout me lets get down to buisness ((note you guys may or may not care but after alot of respecs and trial and error i found the best builds for pvp and pve))
a little side note a combat build dosnt become effective really untill you hit level 32 to 34 so id go subtley untill then dosnt matter where you put your talents if your willing to respec at 34 to go combat MoD (master of deception) is a plus even with combat build and since the first respec is a gold you can get a gold easy in strangle thorn vale selling grey and white items to vendor briskly whiskers for a stack of 10 sell for 75 or 78 silver and are found on cats in STV by the time you get 10 whiskers youll have enough other crap to easily get 3 gold
since you want to go pve i think thats what the OP said id recomend if you just hit 10 id go with combat build up untill level 55 (this is just my opinion since your the one playing feel free to mess around with these builds just giveing you an idea) ((im useing blizzards talent caculator since i cant get in game to look at my rogue and since i keep him at 48 i use the pvp build not the leveling build))
fill up sinister strike
fill up reflexes these are both teir 1 talents
now alot of people are going to disagree with me but dont worry bout putting anything in gouge
next fill up precision cause it leads to duel weild spec which is a must
next fill up deflection if you see the first attack talent point you get is reposite i personally forget to use it most of the time but thats my mistake use it 150% weapon damage and 6 sec disarm after parrying an apponents attacks is a good idea
now the next part comes down to prefrence you can a either go daggers or b go swords I DO NOT RECOMMEND MACES NO MATTER WHAT (sorry for the yelling but i dont want you to miss that). now the plus side with daggers is speed a combat rogue at level 40 is a fast killer and daggers make him faster so if you go dagger spec youll be putting out more damage 5% more crit damage if you fill it up, next is swords also a good choice due to the fact that slower weapons hit harder and have a better chance to hit so id get a main handed sword (if you go swords) at a speed of 2.10 to 2.30 and an offhand sword for 1.50 to 2.30 plenty of good swords fall into that area after level 31 thats when the green item swords get good and the good thing about sword spec is you get a 5% chance to get an extra attack when fighting which is good so really daggers or swords its up to you i used both but went swords after level 37
oh almost for got fill up sprint and evasion the ability to dodge and run away is a very good thing a very very good thing why evasion one since you wont be pvping against warriors you wont have to worry about overpower since all youll be fighting is mobs and fighting them very well
next depending on what spec you went youll now be level 42 the next talent to put in your tree is blade furry i can not stress how important blade furry is in getting you out of trouble this ability gives you a 20% attack speed boost for 15 seconds and also attacks another target guarenteed carefull with that though if your close to another target that you dont want to fight dont hit blade fury its to be used in case your about to die or get ganged up on 2 or 3 mobs if you get attacked by 4 mobs at this level i recommend hitting sprint and getting out of there better to run and live then die and get armor points hurt its easy at level 43 to take on three mobs with combat build you hit blade furry even at full health and take out one foe hitting sinister strike which then hits the second foe with sinister strike along with hitting both foes with your regular attacks so by the time you kill your first foe the other one can be dead or is near death and is easy to finish off now if your fighting foes your level or 1 higher your safe since 3 foes 1 level higher then you or lower are easy to manage with blade furry just be care full though energy runs out fast but that will be solved later
ok right now your at level 43 and you just put your talents in blade furry now fill up agression very important to fill that up since it gives you a 3% chance to get a crit strike with eviserate and sinister strike your two main attacks in combat build after filling that up you should be level 46 (or so the talent caculator tells me)
now the next talent to put in is adrenaline rush now this combined with sword or dagger spec combined with blade furry can get you out of any fight with a mob of level 4 higher level then you or lower or 2 mobs of level 3 higher then you or lower or 3 mobs of level 2 higher a level then you you get the point the closer the are to your level or are below your level the more of them you can take on and live though i wouldnt take on any 5 or more mobs that are green to you unless you got this technique of how to use this right which ill go over in a few but basicly the point im trying to make is after you get adrenaline rush your pretty much done with putting your talents in places till you hit the high end instances so put the rest of your talents where you want youll either have not respeced by now or done it once so by the time your level 55 where youll need to respec for the first or second time itll either cost your 1 gold for the first time or 5 gold for the second time but at level 55 5 gold is easy to get just ask your freinds where to farm stuff im not familiar with level 55 areas but i hear the plague lands are good and that a rogue speced this way can easily take on an elite one on one and live (this is what i heard from my freinds so be carefull i havent proven this myself)
ok getting off track sorry lets see like i said after you put the talents in those spots your set and can put the talents in other areas where you want i recomend assasination for extra damage primarily improved eviserate then put the rest up till level 55 in MoD master of deception
now that you know where i stand on leveling talents ill tell you how i fight with this build now you all are going to either laugh or say he wont live if he does that and or why didnt he say put talents in the stun abilitys like kick mace and why did he pass up gouge and backstab? i got very good reasons for it now listen good YOU WONT NEED THEM AFTER LEVEL 40. omg heresy burn this fool ghostedwolf at the stake. no seriously you wont need them why itll one waste energy that you can use for sinister strike and evisterate but ghostedwolf if he hits ad rush he has all the energy he needs.. true but its only for a short time and has a cool down of 6 minutes not long but long enough if you use it when you dont need to
now how i do it is i walk up to the mob or mobs if im fighting two mobs my level i wont need blade furry or eviserate due to that fact i can take a hit and im doing so much damage the first critters dead before they both have me at 3/4ths health i then go to the next critter and smack him around with sinister strike and eviserate by that time depending on your luck and if you maxed out your weapons skill you should be either right at half health but most likely youll be just below 3/4ths this is of course after you have aggression and blade furry (though you wont need bladefurry just yet)
instances when you need to use blade furry and ad rush
one such instance (and i dont mean instances as in deadmines) is if you are at half health from fighting a mob four levels above you and that mob thats four levels above you is still alive and another mob say 1 level above you or lower aggros hit ad rush blade furry evasion and start useing sinsiter strike and eviserate youll find that youll be haveing to wait for sinister strike to recharge since your energy will recharge at a 100% with ad rush but thats not a problem youll live most likely unless you miss alot which may happen so keep you weapon skills up to par
another instance is if 3 or more mobs aggro on you and you then do the same thing ad rush blade furry and evasion this will get you out of alot of sticky situations
another instance is if your bored as hell and you want to see how fast you can kill van cleef and clear deadmines with stealth itll take you 20 minutes without stealth and you kill everything tack on another 5 minutes for killing and looting and only loot the green and better items even the bops why you ask cause a deadmine run solo at level 47 or so can get you and easy 4 gold a trip true theres other places to farm for items but thats a easy 4 gold just bring two health potions and food just in case
so basicly after level forty the only attacks youll be useing is sinister strike and eviserate (reposite if you remember it but not nessary since youll still kill if not faster just as fast)
now you may be asking your self if i forgot about stealth after level 34 you wont need stealth to open a attack you can if you want but its not nessary  |
