I thought I should clarify the above a little, as there may be a few people who miss the meaning of certain things.
While the campaign is magic-based, this doesn't mean anyone's character has to be a spellcaster. You can choose any existing Core class (
http://www.d20srd.org/indexes/classes.htm - choose from the base classes list).
Level adjustment appears in Icewind Dale II, so some people may be familiar with it, it compensates for powerful character races.
Races that are +1 Level Adjustment include Aasimar, Tiefling and Duergar, so those can be played where races such as Drow cannot be.
Equipment-
http://www.d20srd.org/indexes/equipment.htm - look into Armour, Weapons and Adventuring Gear.
Common Equipment (such as bedrolls etc) can be grouped as 'Camping Equipment' at the cost of 20gp.
The point buy system assumes all attributes start at 8. If you want 16 in an attribute, then you would 'pay' 14 of your 32 points to get that. If you've already bought up to 15 and want to increase it to 16 you would only 'pay' 2 extra points.
Hit Dice can be found for your character class on the SRD if you don't already know what your hit dice is (it's the first link I've provided).
To work out your Average HP, you take your full level 1 hitpoints (which is the hit dice plus your Constitution bonus), divide it by two and add 0.5.
Every time you level up your average HP are added to your previous hit point total.
Okay, I think that's all I can say.
Anyone can join the campaign, just post on this thread to register your interest.

And if you need any help in creating a character, just ask. It's no problem.
