I'm planning on getting DLCE when it comes out, too. I'm wondering if it will be v1.3 or v1.4? Hmm.
As to minimizing the window and/or alt-tabbing out, it was mentioned in one of the DL FAQ's I read (can't remember where) that attempting to do that could cause both the game and the save game files to become corrupt, causing exactly the intermittant black screen problem you say you are experiencing. The fix for that, according to the FAQ, it to reinstall the game after deleting everything, including the saved game files and to not reduce the window or alt-tab, but to use the escape key method instead. Since I'm suffering the same problem as you are since I tried miniziming too, I am planning on completely erasing and starting over when I do get CE. Did you perchance minimize or alt-tab? Since my current version is messed up anyway....not much to loose....plus with the upgrade from 1.3 to 1.4 (if that happens) my skill path development for my characters will probably be different too. If not, it does suck to lose the characters, but I guess they'll have to be sacrificed for the greater good.
When is CE due to be released and can we REALLY expect the new content its supposed to have? I'm comparing the box to what the game originally had in it when it was released. You know, the ability to change the appearance of your character, certain working skills like alchemy and repair and an automap to mention a few? The CE version is supposed to have additional stuff too. In fact, I'm wondering if the new content in CE will simply be what's included in v1.4. Its a shame they are doing this stuff to us loyal customers, because I really love playing DL. Some evil spirit is forcing me to play it! Help me!!! I should hate it and what they are doing to us, but I can't!
