I'm not sure I agree with you. Actually, in my opinion, it seems like there are far more RPGs coming out for consoles than the PC. I've encountered very few decent PC RPGs in the past year that weren't hack and slash (and looking to the future, I only see a couple truly promising titles). On the other hand, we have a large number of console RPGs appearing in the present for the Playstation 2 (a platform that is on its way out, in theory). Recent released or soon to come games include a a new Dragon Quest VIII, Suikoden V, Wild Arms 4, Wild Arms: Alter Code F, Grandia 3, Final Fantasy XII, Shining Force Neo, to just name the ones that immediately come to mind. Certainly, as Aegis would remind us, the X-Box has not be as vigorous of an RPG tool as the PS2 (mainly because Sony has secured most of the JRPG business), but we're even seeing some movement on the X-Box 360 front to secure more console exclusive RPGs. Beyond Mass Effect and Jade Empire 2 (which are in the works), I know Buck posted a news piece some months ago which reported that X-Box had commissioned one of the FF big-whigs to do some 360 games. I imagine if we see a Fable 2, it will capitalize on that platform as well.
