| Spells come with different difficulty. Summon Golden Saint is one of most difficult, for example, on normal conditions it hardly may be cast with 100% probability.
Then. if you do not have necessary Magicka, the chance to cast successfully obviously is 0.
Alteration is Willpower realted (like as Mysticism, Restoration, and, i believe, also Destruction) so Willpower plays important role. Intelligence is important for all kinds of spells, and not only because it determines amount of Magicka. Should i mention the importance of the skill?
And the last but not least is Luck.
