| We don't say that fighters get the heavy armor skill. Fighters don't receive any new skills. That's why the "new skills" field says "none."
We do say that fighters get a learning bonus for heavy weapons. So far as I know, that's true, although it won't be useful for your character unless you choose a class that adds the heavy armor skill.
