Note that the lock may require a higher level Open spell. Check the lock before you cast that Open, to make sure you aren't wasting your magicka. You'll probably encounter a variety of spells named similarly, with identical basic effects. But--the higher the magicka cost, usually the higher some value associated with the spell.
So a Levitate spell that costs 85 magicka instead of 45 may help you levitate faster, or longer. Or a little of both. And if the magicka cost is too high, you won't be able to cast the spell. |
I'm not sure that's the points badboyd22 is referring to...
If the spell effect is listed as for example "Open 50 pts on touch" it will open a lock of level 50 or less if the player is touching the locked item...
If it is "Fire Damage 2 pts for 10 secs on target" then it is 2 points per second of fire damage for 10 secs...
It is the 'magnitude' of the spell effect I think is being referred to...
