| Well, this is actually very hard question.
I would say IWD2 since it has better rulesystem, and plot is better.
BUT, IWD1 is more funny to play again and again, since there is no such stupid "prologue" chapter which is long, boring etc. like IWD2 has.
But if I must choose, I would say IWD2, nevertheless.
