| V:TM Redemption is a very, very different experience from Bloodlines.
Redemption is a very linear game with very little RPG, enthralling Bloodsucking and Masquerade compared to Bloodlines, even though there are a few different endings based on how you play, which you probably already have read. There are more disciplines and almost no optional dialogue in Redemption and you have no choice of clan. You are sired as a Brujah, but it doesn't in itself limits the disciplines you can learn from books along the way. Some of the pnp-fans claim that Bloodlines is more true to the source than Redemption, but I am just a gamer in this aspect; it doesn't bother me.
Combat and views is a bit reminiscent of KotOR (actually it's the other way around, but whatever...), when you have 1-2 extra party members along, and you'll probably experience some of the same problems with micromanagement and friendly fire...besides frenzy and torpor and a little daylight, hehe.
I got it when it first came out and after 2 hours of play I was infuriated with controls, pace and camera angles and quit the game while I still had some hair left. Two weeks later equipped with a little more patience I gave it a second try and I think it was worth it.
Just remember to patch it. |
